D.O.T. – Handgun

RDO or Red Dot Optic use is certainly not new technology but has been slow to be adopted widely. Whatever your reason for waiting may be, this course will end that hesitation, after DOT you will no longer be gun-Amish as we at SARE like to call it. Like any technology you are not familiar with it can be intimidating or just seem easier to do what had always been done. Maybe you have tried a dot and just can’t seem to “find” it; this is the class for you. Think iron sights are faster? This class will prove different. Heck, maybe you just don’t want to give up the tried and true iron sight picture, in this class, we learn to shoot without sights at all!

DOT – Handgun is a 1/2 day course

Prerequisite, we recommend having completed HACNOW or similar post CPL training/experience covering the fundamentals of handgun handling and marksmanship.

Participants MUST know and demonstrate the 4 rules of responsible firearms handling at all times.

Required equipment:

• Modern Semi-Automatic pistol with RDO and 8+ capacity
• Min. 2 magazines
• Belt secured holster, IWB and OWB kydex with good retention are preferred, no one size fits all or cheap Unkle Mikes type holsters.
• Second (Third) magazine holder or belt/pocket clip. Loose magazines floating in pockets will not be allowed.
• 150-200 rounds ammunition
• Eye and Ear protection
• Clothing appropriate for Michigan weather at time of class.
• An Open Mind!
