SARE TACMED picks up where you left off from defensive firearms training as well as medical intervention. This 1 day course brings those two worlds together in a dynamic live-fire/hands on medical course. Your day will consist of implementing your foundational firearms skills along with your medical training. Multiple scenarios including implementing the use of deadly force, maintaining security and managing threats, determining the best next course of action: victim extraction or treat in place, and then completing the transition from defender to caretaker.
*You will be required to know and demonstrate the 4 rules of responsible firearms handling and complete a foundation handgun qualifier following the safety briefing in order to fully participate in this course.
SARE Medical Intervention courses are broken down into 3 tiers:
Level 1- You or someone around you just got served a turd sandwich and immediate intervention is required to keep the blood in the body or the air moving in and out. While not trying to over-simplify; SARE TRAUMA prepares you to intervene when help is less than 20 minutes away. You will have the skills and knowledge to provide initial stabilization to the patient knowing that more advanced help is coming shortly. We will discuss the nuances or scene safety and introduce steps you can take to control the scene, gather critical information, and prepare for incoming responders. This is SARE TRAUMA
Level 2- The bad just got worse, whether you are in a rural area, middle of the woods, or the turd sandwiches just hit the fan; this is the course that goes far more in-depth to care for the human body. Building on Level 1 (SARE Trauma) we will introduce medical diagnostic to determine trending health conditions. This course can be thought of as the help is more than 20min away or you may need to self transport. Expect a deep dive into environmental injuries from hypothermia to heat stroke, treatment and stabilization of fractures, all the different types of shock, practical use of CPR, and much much more. This is SARE MEDICAL
Level 3- The turd sandwiches were tossed into a fan causing a slurry of yuck blinding all in the area from any level of rational thought, everyone simultaneously pulled the pin on the panic grenade, aka, mass casualty incident like a mass shooter or a 747 missed its target and crashed into the intersection you were patiently waiting for a green light at. This course combines your medical training AND your defensive firearms tactics. Imagine you find yourself in a firefight and people all around you need immediate medical, this is the course where we practice exactly that. This is SARE TACMED
